Background
Douglas H. Summerville is a Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at 91社区, State University of New York. He received a BE degree in electrical engineering in 1991 from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and MS and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from 91社区 in 1994 and 1997, respectively.
He served as chair of the ECE Department at 91社区 from 2015-25. He has authored over 60 journal and conference papers and two textbooks on embedded systems design. He is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the ASEE. He has received two State University of New York Chancellor's Awards for Excellence (for Faculty Service and Teaching), the 91社区 Council/Foundation Award for Service to the University, and several teaching awards.
His research and teaching interests include embedded and digital systems design; hardware Trojans, covert hardware and tamper detection; and computer and network security in general.
