Who are the Education Abroad Ambassadors?

Education Abroad Ambassadors ("Ambassadors") are student volunteers who have returned from their education abroad experience with an interest and passion for education abroad. They are highly enthusiastic about sharing their experience and helping other students study abroad.

Talk to an Ambassador!

During the semester (when classes are in session) Ambassadors are generally available during our drop-in advising hours. No appointment needed, just stop by! Ambassadors' hours vary, so if you are interested in speaking to a specific Ambassador, please contact Ryane Lovett-Pitts at rlovettpitts@binghamton.edu.

Hi, I'm John! I studied abroad in San Jose, Costa Rica the summer before my sophomore year. I am a first-generation student and a Gilman Alumni. I attended the Education Abroad Fair last spring and that's when I found out about studying abroad; it wasn't necessarily something I knew about beforehand. I thought that because I am a pre-med student I wouldn't be able to study abroad, or it wouldn't be meaningful, and both aren't true!! Studying abroad was one of the most unique and breathtaking experiences I've ever had and caused me to get out of my comfort zone. I was also able to explore so many different parts of Costa Rica and enjoyed every moment of it. I can speak on a bunch of different things about studying abroad in a Spanish speaking country so please ask! I'm excited to help other students navigate being pre-med and needing scholarships for study abroad so please feel free to email me or come by during my drop in hours with any questions or needing any help!!

I am passionate about sharing my experience with others as well as helping them get that same incredible experience. Hi! I'm Isaac, and I studied abroad at Bond University in Australia for the spring 2025 semester. I took major-required classes in Mathematics and also classes unique to Australia, like Island Cultures and Surfing. I loved the weather and all the activities that Australia's coast had to offer. While in Australia, I immersed myself in the surfing and scuba cultures, including getting my scuba certification and diving at The Great Barrier Reef. I was fortunate enough to travel outside of Australia to other countries like New Zealand, Indonesia, and Thailand. My experience abroad was unbelievable, and I think it's something that every student should consider. Feel free to talk to me about my experience down under and ask me any questions that you might have.

Hi! My name is Dayana (like the Princess) and I studied abroad in the fall 2024 semester at Lancaster University! It was an exchange program through 91ÉçÇø where I got to have an immersive experience as an English student. I came into 91ÉçÇø knowing that I was going to study abroad at some point because I've always been intrigued with the idea of  being an exchange student in a foreign country and traveling internationally. Being in the UK for a full semester was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I feel so fortunate to have had. I met lots of interesting people and made friends with other exchange students who were from different countries in Europe and even New Zealand. I traveled around the town of Lancaster, reading into its history and appreciating the beautiful architecture, as well as around England to cities like Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, and London. I also took advantage of some weekends to travel to Italy, Ireland, and Scotland! I can understand that studying abroad may seem intimidating, which is why I'm eager to share my experience abroad as an Education Abroad Ambassador and motivate others to take that leap of faith! Ask me about studying abroad as a first-generation student, studying abroad as an EOP student, and studying abroad as a pre-law student!

Hi, I’m Hailey! I studied abroad in Florence at Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici during the spring of my junior year, and it was truly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Being abroad and traveling throughout Europe taught me a lot about myself and gave me the chance to explore new places and cultures. I know the idea of going abroad can feel overwhelming, but I’m happy to share advice on everything from preparing for your trip to making the most of your time once you’re there. Florence was one of my favorite cities, and I could talk about it for hours. Being based there made it so easy to travel around other parts of Italy. As a neuroscience major, I can share tips on fitting study abroad into a STEM schedule, especially for neuroscience or biology students. Feel free to stop by during my drop-in hours or email me with any questions!
