Alumni Milestones

2023   2024 2025

Lexi DelBalso: Got engaged in July 2024, started a job as a clinical pharmacist in Internal Medicine at AdventhHealth in Orlando, FL, got BCPS certified in March this year, published my residency research project titled 鈥淎 Pre-post Intervention Study Examining the Impact of a Novel Process on Administration Time for Emergent 23.4% Hypertonic Sodium Chloride Boluses鈥 in the Journal of Pharmacy Practice.

Shalyn Jones: I transitioned from community pharmacy at Kinney drugs to inpatient at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse in March 2025. I am also recently engaged, soon to be Mr and Mrs Erwin in November of 2026!

Breanna Sellaouti: Sophie Nora Sellaouti was born on August 22nd weighing in at 8lbs 5oz and 21 inches! Here she is in her SOPPS baby blanket!baby blanket

Jenna Stasko: I recently accepted a role as the inaugural ambulatory care pharmacist for Cayuga Health in Ithaca, NY! In addition to adding my role, the health system is simultaneously expanding their outpatient pharmacy services to include specialty pharmacy. I will be seeing patients within this specialty space and managing disease states such as migraine and rheumatoid arthritis to start! As the system's first (and only) ambulatory care pharmacist, I have been a part of much of the planning process and development of the specialty/ambulatory care services - essentially I get to design and execute my own workflow!

Dominick Patafio: At the end of March, I accepted a position with Montefiore Einstein in Bronx, NY as a Clinical Pharmacy Manager with the oncology department. My main duty will be acting as the primary clinical pharmacist on the inpatient hematology service which handles mostly malignant hematology cases (with some non-malignant hematology cases roped in). This is a new role for the health system so I will have the ability to also influence many of the policies and procedures that relate to the oncology department. Depending on availability, I may also have opportunities to participate in some academic duties and potentially also precept some pharmacy students or residents.

Jessica Westerman: I recently celebrated 11 years with Walgreens. It so surreal to look back a those 11 years and acknowledge that I started as a cashier in the front of the store, then transitioned to a pharmacy technician after a year, then intern, and now I just celebrated 10 years in the pharmacy and 11 years with the company as a Pharmacist.

Danielle Dattler: I started a new position yesterday at the Syracuse VA Medical Center as an Inpatient/Outpatient Clinical Pharmacist. I'm very excited to be back in the hospital setting surrounded by an amazing team!

Hannah Weyrauch: On June 20th, 2026 I get to marry my best friend. We actually met while I was in Syracuse for a rotation and he was absolutely my biggest cheerleader during my last years of pharmacy school. I can鈥檛 wait to be Mrs. Dr. Purdy!

Philip Shen: I simplified my 7-book "Syanic Earth" series into a single short book called Cyanic Odyssey.

Coordinator of Student and Alumni Services

"I began working at SOPPS in Fall 2018 in Admissions & Student Affairs as the administrative coordinator and my role started expanding almost immediately. I run the SOPPS tutoring program and Big Sib/Lil Sib mentorship program as well as organizing special events and helping with our student orgs. Since I've had the opportunity to get to know & become friends with so many students, my new position as the Coordinator of Student & Alumni Services is a natural progression. I will be working closely with PALs to get our new alumni mentorship program running this year. My goal is to find more ways to keep our alumni connected not only with SOPPS, but also our students and alumni, through panels, guest lectures, continuing education and networking events."
