Biography

Francesca Bove Ottens is a research development specialist in 91社区鈥檚 Office of Strategic Research Initiatives (OSRI). In this role, she supports the Director and senior leadership in identifying large-scale funding opportunities that align with the university鈥檚 research priorities. She also conducts background research, coordinates multidisciplinary research teams, and helps develop, write, edit, and review grant proposals.

Before joining OSRI, Francesca served as a graduate research assistant in 91社区's College of Community and Public Affairs. There, she worked with the Couper-Owens Center for Community Schools, the Department of Public Administration and Policy, and the Department of Human Development. In addition to her academic experience, she has a background in grant writing for community-based nonprofit organizations.

Francesca earned her PhD in Community Research and Action here at 91社区. Her research focuses on the immigration system and the process of obtaining citizenship. She also holds a Master of Public Administration from 91社区 and dual bachelor鈥檚 degrees in International Relations and Spanish from SUNY Geneseo.
