Join us: January 14-15, 2027
We are excited to invite you to the 14th annual NYS College and University Emergency Management Workshop at 91ÉçÇø. This event has become a cornerstone in our efforts to bring together practitioners in higher education emergency management.
The dynamic landscape of emergency management presents new challenges and opportunities every day. This workshop is your chance to stay ahead in this ever-evolving field. We aim to bring together practitioners to share their invaluable experiences, expertise, and insights, and to collectively support the professional development of individuals with emergency management responsibilities in a higher education setting.
Pre-Event Training Opportunity: January 12-13
This year we are pleased to offer a unique opportunity for higher education emergency managers to participate in a 2-day training course: Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
Scheduled for January 12–13, 2027, just prior to the workshop, this course provides a comprehensive overview of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), the national standard methodology for designing, developing, conducting, and evaluating emergency preparedness exercises. Participants will learn how to turn threat assessments into realistic exercise scenarios identifying planning gaps before a real disaster strikes, while building practical skills to create Exercise Evaluation Guides (EEGs) and After-Action Reports (AAR).
By mastering this standardized framework, attendees will learn how to effectively integrate public, private, and non-governmental community partners for seamless multi-agency collaboration. Additionally, completing this course helps organizations meet the training prerequisites and compliance metrics often required to qualify for federal and state emergency management grant funding.
